The Brief:
AXLE was tasked to create stunning visuals to engage and captivate audiences at the 47th World Gymnastics competition in Montreal, Canada. The team was to create content that included pre-show and in-show videos, plus both male and female “Uplift” feature videos.
The Process:
AXLE worked with more than 500 athletes from 80 different countries. The team meticulously created athlete profiles through the use of green screens and also captured the athletes live in action. In total, the team created over 300 pieces of content over a 5-day period in Montreal. Working day and night to bring GBE’s grand vision to life, AXLE created both male and female Uplift feature videos to be presented in-front of a worldwide audience before the main events of each category throughout the competition.
Capturing entertaining videos for pre-show use was essential to the GBE presentation schedule. We created custom content featuring athletes answering questionnaires and playing games. Pre-show content was hosted by local Montreal personality Yazz. He also hosted a behind the scenes tour of the event, shot and edited in both French and English on location. All pre-show content was created for the bilingual audience.
The Results:
We worked tirelessly to meet the expectations of GBE in the short amount of time we spent working in Montreal. The athlete profiles and pre-show content was used daily during the competition and the Uplift feature videos were well received by the worldwide audience of the 47th World Gymnastics Competition. Overall GBE executed yet another smooth event on a world stage and AXLE was proud to provide the visuals to match the outstanding quality of the event and the incredible abilities of the world’s best gymnastic athletes.
