It’s the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Montreal faces the Vegas Golden Knights in the semifinals, the series is tied 1-1. Meanwhile we are shooting a different project on location in Toronto and get a call to capture the lighting of the Molson Brewery in Montreal in 2 days. Luckily the timing lined up perfectly and we were able to free up our Friday to get to Montreal and capture this moment.
The Molson Brewery was being projected on with images of a large banner that displayed fan Tweets encouraging the Montreal Canadians throughout the playoffs. We were there to capture the moment the lights turned on and to shoot the brewery from all angles across the city. In the wind and rain we made it happen, and even made our way down to the Centre Bell to get fan reactions as they celebrated the Canadian’s game 3 win of the semifinals. The next day we edited the piece for social media and met the quick turnaround time required. The video was edited for 2 languages and posted on Molson Export’s social channels. Fans were excited to see their team rooted for by the official beer of the Montreal Canadiens and the series was off to an exciting start.
